When you walk further to your left, you will see this ticket station |
on board the vaporetto |
These are the views I've seen while on board the water bus service (vaporetto)......
Curious about the "hands,"?--it means "support"
had to walk my luggage through the Rialto bridge |
most locals that I've seen will have their pets walking around with them too |
this is how narrow the Venetian streets |
Quite a long walk carrying my luggage through this narrow streets and a few climb of stairs, check out my hotel with this link

Just walking around, getting lost...and taking photos...
oh wow, I see Hard Rock on the other side...cool |
at Piazza San Marco...
Piazza San Marco (Italian pronunciation: [ˈpjattsa sam ˈmarko]; Venetian: Piasa San Marco), often known in English as St Mark's Square, is the principal public square of Venice, Italy, where it is generally known just as la Piazza ("the Square"). All other urban spaces in the city (except the Piazzetta and the Piazzale Roma) are called campi ("fields"). The Piazzetta ("little Piazza/Square") is an extension of the Piazza towards the lagoon in its south east corner (see plan). The two spaces together form the social, religious and political centre of Venice and are commonly considered together. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piazza_San_Marco
Selfies again.... :)

July 4, 2017 (Tuesday) |
Walking Tour, St Mark's Basilica & Gondola Ride with Walks of Italy Tours |
Like the other tours I had in Rome and Vatican City, all their tours will have an audio sets. It is much easier walking with your earpiece listening while viewing all the attractions. | |
The following photos are what I have seen through our walking tour.....
Rialto bridge |
coffee shops |
with my tour group |
fruit stalls in the market |
this is where the wet market is, back in old times if you look at the white marble, it actually says that all fishes or whatever seafood they sell must follow the minimum length the government implied before they could sell it |
at the wet market, look how fresh the seafood |
can you find the "fish" at the post? :) |
our tour guide, she's actually born in UK (if I remeber it right) but has been in Venice for almost 20 years with his Venetian husband |
see that small post, that is where the "newscaster" reads the news or do announcements during the old times |
view standing from the Rialto bridge |
this is Marco Polo's neighborhood when he was young |
Santa Maria dei Miracoli is a church in the sestiere of Cannaregio, in Venice, Italy. Also known as the "marble church", it is one of the best examples of the early Venetian Renaissance including colored marble, a false colonnade on the exterior walls (pilasters), and a semicircular pediment. The organisation "Save Venice" restored the church over a period of ten years, from 1987 to 1997 (they had estimated as period of two years).[1] The marble cladding contained 14 percent of salts, and was on the point of bursting. All marble cladding was removed, and cleaned in stainless steel tanks, in a solution of distilled water. The restoration was calculated to cost 1 million dollars, the final cost was 4 million dollars. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Maria_dei_Miracoli,_Venice |

St. Mark's Basilica
so many cute children playing around with the birds, so adorable |
Our tour includes a gondola ride, it is definitely cheaper as you will be riding with group of 5-6 pax than paying the gondola for a price of solo at minimum rate of Euro 80 for 40 minutes.
lovely couples with me on the gondola, my group |
can't get enough of one selfie photo...again please, LOL
v
they are very skilled gondolier, I though the boat will touch the wall during its turn, but it did not! |
Our gondola ride experience was 30 minutes of fun
quite an interesting display of a boutique shop, saw it while on gondola ride |
the gondola which almost like an inch away from the wall |
After the gondoala ride, which is the end of the tour...I had to walk back again to Piazza San Marco to find a good place to eat my late lunch...
As recommended by my tour guide during our walks near the Mercato, I tried to find back this restaurant named
Vini da Pinto, quite near to the wet market and for sure will offer you the fresh seafood.
Address: San Polo, 367, 30125 Venezia VE, Italy

On my way to Marco Polo Airport....
aerial views
Venice is really a picturesque island, a city that must be in your bucket lists. However, on my thoughts, I'm not sure if I can live here, not really comfortable of taking boats everyday and walking the narrow streets (claustrophobic).
Here's the snippets from my trip in video
