Chinatown in Singapore (Chinese New Year/Lunar New Year)

Chinatown exists in many areas throughout the globe and Singapore is no exception. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinatown,_Singapore

Have you ever wonder how Chinatown looks like in the eve of  Chinese New Year? But too scared to join the crowd because you are claustrophobic or for other reasons? Here are a few photos of what I have seen and experience on the eve of CNY 2017, year of the rooster in Chinatown!

Yes, this is the crowd of people at 7pm, imagine a thicker crowd when it's nearer midnight

Fear not, this group of security/police officers are having their roll call before being deployed to all areas to protect the public.

as for any crowded areas and events, always beware of pickpockets (I strolled the streets for 2 hrs and felt safe, as always in Singapore! )

Balayage Ombre

I just wanted a hair cut and highlights for my hair to have a new look in the coming New Year. Without much knowledge in hair colour, the creative stylist suggested me to go for a Balayage style of hair colouring. I though highlights are all the same technique. But when she explained that its different and it suited me for a fresh, younger looking look, I did not hesitat to try it.

balayage
ˈbalɪjɑːʒ/
noun
  1. a technique for highlighting hair in which the dye is painted on in such a way as to create a graduated, natural-looking effect.

No regrets, loving my hair colour. Sherlin Yap, the hair artist who did this is really expert and professional in her craft. I will definitely comeback to this salon and look for hair stylist Sherlin Yap (though I think most of the stylist at their salon are also good and well trained)
