The desire to learn, to know, to try, to see, to feel, to touch, to hear and to taste makes us always curious and that makes our life here on Earth a colourful and memorable one. This also brings out to make our "first-time" experiences. Enjoy my blog, as I will share you most of my "first-times"...where sky is the limit! ;)
Chinatown exists in many areas throughout the globe and Singapore is no exception. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinatown,_Singapore
Have you ever wonder how Chinatown looks like in the eve of Chinese New Year? But too scared to join the crowd because you are claustrophobic or for other reasons? Here are a few photos of what I have seen and experience on the eve of CNY 2017, year of the rooster in Chinatown!
How to reach the place? Just alight to "Chinatown" MRT station and this starts your journey....
Yes, this is the crowd of people at 7pm, imagine a thicker crowd when it's nearer midnight
Fear not, this group of security/police officers are having their roll call before being deployed to all areas to protect the public.
as for any crowded areas and events, always beware of pickpockets (I strolled the streets for 2 hrs and felt safe, as always in Singapore! )
Giant golden rooster!
locals, expats, tourists are all taking photos
the main road is blocked, for the parade and program later
who doesn't know this shop? :)
CNY festives will always have these Bakwa or jerky, a salty, spicy, sweet dried meat (pork, chicken)
hungry? most tourists will definitely stop at this Seafood restaurant

tired body? they also have spa
Rooster ornaments for sale
the crowd at 8pm
wait, I thought I was in Chinatown? For Korean snacks lovers, you can also shop here...
it is spring festival anyways, lovely flowers
different flavors of jellies!!
stage is ready for the countdown
street lantern
when you see a long queue, it is sure one of the best place to eat, locals knows best!
Roosters all over the street:
rooster designs on the side road
amazing system and disciplined people, even how crowded the place is, pedestrians were arranged to still follow the "keep left" system for a more faster flow of people
Here's a summarized short video of my 2-hr walk in Chinatown,enjoy! :)
